President Vladimir Putin made a press statement following the Peace Mission 2007 counterterrorism exercises and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit

The President announced, in particular, the decision to resume regular flights by Russia’s long-range strategic aviation. Such flights have not been carried out since 1992.

Russia’s long-range strategic aircraft recommenced regular patrols as from midnight on August 17.
