During the talk the two heads of state discussed the plans of bilateral contacts this year and topical issues in Russian-Kazakh relations.
The Russian head of state also sent Mr Nazarbayev a message of greetings, which reads in part:
“I am convinced that the diversified and mutually beneficial cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan backed by close interaction within the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Collective Security Treaty and EurAsEc, will continue to develop progressively in the interests of our fraternal peoples.
“I wish you, dear Nursultan Abishevich, well-being, happiness and good health, and I wish peace and prosperity to the friendly people of Kazakhstan.”
