The G8 leaders adopted a final statement summing up the results of the discussion on the problems of the environment, the fight against poverty, aid to developing countries and combating transnational organised crime.

The summit’s document, among other things, supports Russia’s proposal to hold an international conference on global warming in 2003. The conference will be attended by representatives of the official, non-governmental, business and scientific circles.
