In order to enhance cooperation of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs with international organizations and counterpart bodies in foreign states in joint efforts against cross-border crime, the Russian president issued a decree allowing the ministry to have 41 representatives and their deputies in foreign countries.

The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs shall sent its representatives and their deputies abroad after consultations with the relevant bodies in the countries concerned and the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs; they shall perform their functions within the Russian Federation’s diplomatic missions without being part of the staff.
