During a half-hour conversation, Mr Putin and Mr Blair discussed at length the most pressing issues in international politics. They exchanged opinions on the progress of consultations to give a new pattern to Russia-NATO relations, and emphasised the need to re-invigorate the dialogue and make it increasingly concrete and pragmatic.
They also discussed the nuts and bolts issues of cooperation over post-conflict reconstruction in Afghanistan.
