Both leaders discussed bilateral cooperation in different spheres in the context of the US President’s upcoming visit to Russia. Mr Putin and Mr Bush said the visit was called on to become a pivotal event in Russian-US relations in the near future.

In this connection, the sides reaffirmed their mutual striving to take advantage of the new quality of bilateral partnership in the disarmament, trade and economic, science and technological, investment and other spheres during the summit and to use it to achieve specific results.

The conversation was held on the initiative of the US side.
