The President held a meeting with Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexy II and winners of the prize for “Distinguished Activity in Reinforcing the Unity of Orthodox Peoples”.

The Patriarch presented the President, who was also awarded the prize, the winner’s badge and diploma.

At the meeting, the Patriarch of Serbia, availing himself of the opportunity, expressed his gratitude to Russia, which had played an important role in ending the bombings of Yugoslavia and signing a peace treaty with NATO countries. He also highly appreciated the spiritual support extended to the Serbs by the Russian Orthodox Church.
