Vladimir Putin decided to transform the Presidential Council for Physical Culture and Sport into the Presidential Council of the Russian Federation for the Development of Physical Culture and Sport, Excellence in Sports, and the Preparation and Execution of the 2014 XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi. This was done with a view to effectively implement state policy in the field of physical culture and sport.
The order contains various provisions concerning the Council, its composition and presidium.
