Vladimir Putin and Gerhard Schroeder had dinner at the Alt Weimar restaurant, watched a concert of Russian and German musicians and took part in the show “Bio's Bahnhof” of ARD television company

President Vladimir Putin and Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder were interviewed by Alfred Biolek, host of the television show “Bio’s Bahnhof”.

Vladimir Putin discussed various issues, including freedom of speech in Russia, the situation in Chechnya, relations with Germany and the future of Europe.

During the show, Vladimir Putin presented a copy of an 18th-century archive document, namely, the letter of a Russian diplomatic representative in Weimar describing Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s secret mission to Rome, to Gerhard Schroeder.
