Mr Blair told Mr Putin about the results of his visit to the US. In turn, President Putin shared impressions with him about inter-state Russian-German meetings that had just completed.
Mr Putin and Mr Blair expressed satisfaction with the high level of coordination of international efforts, which were of great importance in promoting the solution of current problems and resolving crisis situations, including in the Middle East.
They also discussed bilateral relations and exchanged opinions on the progress in the establishment of a new Russia-NATO mechanism.
On the same day, President Putin had telephone conversations with Spanish Prime Minister Jose Aznar and Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.
