The conversation finalised a series of consultations held by Mr Putin with the leaders of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation member states.
Mr Putin and Mr Rakhmonov discussed preparations for a session of the Collective Security Council, scheduled for May in Moscow, and for a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, to be held in St Petersburg.
