The President and Deputy Prime Minister discussed the situation on the fuel market, the development of the country’s energy sector, the availability of resources on the Russian domestic market and Russia’s position on the international oil market from July 1.
One of the themes under discussion was international cooperation on the Caspian Sea, in particular, the implementation of agreements with Kazakhstan on the development of deposits on the northern Caspian shelf.
They also touched upon some issues related to Russian-Ukrainian cooperation in the gas sector, which acquired special significance in the light of the agreements on strategic cooperation recently signed by the two countries. Prospects for future agreements on gas cooperation were also discussed, including long-term (ten-year) agreements for storing gas in Ukrainian storage facilities.
