President Vladimir Putin chaired a session of the Security Council on the country's economic security at the Kremlin

The President set the task of identifying threats and risks to the economy and said that the mechanisms of overcoming potential financial crises should be created as soon as possible.

He also proposed outlining new priorities in the country’s economic security strategy because not only has the world changed, but Russia has also changed, including its economy and the nature of threats [to it].

Mr Putin asked the government to join their efforts with the Security Council and take an active role in finalising the document ensuring Russia’s economic security.
