Mr Medvedev presented the Security Council’s new members: Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Naryshkin, Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, and Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov.
The meeting examined various foreign and domestic policy issues.
Taking part in the meeting were Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, Chairman of the Federation Council Sergei Mironov, Chairman of the State Duma Boris Gryzlov, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev, Defence Minister Anatoly Serdyukov and acting Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Mikhail Fradkov.
