The President’s message reads, in particular:

“It is pleasing to see that your forum is becoming a tradition. Three years ago, in September 2004, the first Congress took place in Moscow and was an important event in the life of the world’s media community. Today, the baton has been handed over to the Spanish city of Estepon, where the heads of the world’s biggest news agencies have gathered.

I am sure that a spirit of constructive dialogue will prevail at your forum and that the recommendations you come up with will help to form a common information space, create greater understanding between peoples and increase the media’s role in combating global threats and challenges”.
