The Minister reported on the progress of his Ministry’s work in Afghanistan. He spoke about joint work with the Germans in building a bridge across the river Pjandzh and on the continued training of Afghan mine-clearing experts.
Simultaneously, the Russian Ministry for Emergencies continues work to restore power supply to Northern Afghanistan via Tajikistan. Sergei Shoigu explained that before it can be done power transmission lines must be restored, the mines along the route cleared and part of Tajikistan’s power grid restored.
