Russia is open to interaction in the sphere of financial audit, Vladimir Putin said in his speech. Russia has put in place practically all the necessary elements for the system of state audit, which goes a long way to make government more effective and the activities of business entities more transparent, and to strengthen discipline in inter-budgetary relations. The President stressed that tracking down and neutralising the capitals that finance terrorism was one of the priorities of audit institutions. He said it was one of the most important tasks that should unite the whole society.

Mr Putin wished effective and substantive work to the participants in the congress and said he was glad to meet his colleagues because at one time he himself headed up the Russian President’s Control Directorate.
