Mr Putin said that planned action to strengthen the Armed Forces’ human resources potential is one of the key aspects of developing the country’s defence system. The President called on the Armed Forces’ leadership not to neglect the issue of raising the prestige of military service in Russia.

The meeting took place as Armed Forces senior command staff took part in an annual gathering.

After meeting with the Armed Forces leadership, the President met with the commanders of the military districts and naval fleets.
