The law determines the time frame for using segments of subsoil with mineral resources for geological studies.
In accordance with the amendments to the law, portions of subsoil can be used for geological studies for up to 5 years. Geological studies using the subsoil of inland marine waters, territorial seas and the continental shelf of the Russian Federation can take up to 10 years.
