A bus bound from Nevinnomyssk to Stavropol was hijacked at the Nevinnomyssk bus terminal at 6:30 a.m. Brandishing an automatic rifle and a pistol, the terrorist forced the driver to drive the bus out of the city. At 7:15 the bus was stopped at a police checkpoint 30 km from Nevinnomyssk. The criminal demanded free passage to Mineralniye Vody. The chief of the Stavropol Region’s Internal Affairs Department, the Chief Prosecutor and the Chief of the local FSB arrived for negotiations with the hijacker.
