The CIS Executive Secretary briefed the president on the initial results of his work, highlighting the meetings of the CIS Inter-parliamentary Assembly and the Council of the CIS Heads of State, the forum on cultural and scientific cooperation in Astana, and a meeting of the economic council in Moscow. Mr Lebedev also spoke about the work of the CIS observers during the elections held in several CIS countries.
Mr Lebedev was appointed Executive Secretary of the CIS at a meeting of the Council of the CIS Heads of State, held in Dushanbe on October 5, 2007.
