In honour of the courage and heroism displayed in extreme conditions, the head of state awarded the title Hero of Russia to the head of the Laboratory at the institute of Oceanology of the Russian Academy of Sciences Anatolii Sagalevich, commander of the deep-water submersible of the Institute of Oceanology of the Russian Academy of Sciences Evgenii Cherniaev, and Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Artur Chilingarov.

First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Civil, Criminal, Arbitration and Constitutional Legislation Vladimir Gruzdev received an award For Services to the Fatherland III degree.
