Mr Putin and Mr Stanishev discussed preparations for Mr Putin’s official visit to Sofia next week. Both leaders noted that this visit, the central event of which will be the opening of the Year of Russia in Bulgaria, has been very substantially prepared through concerted work by government ministries and agencies in both countries. The objective is to reach concrete agreements in trade and the economy, including in the energy sector, and in the humanitarian and cultural spheres.
