The President toured the tunnel that will make up part of the new road, and looked at the plans for road construction in Sochi.

145 km of the Dzhubga–Sochi federal highway is in the territory of the Greater Sochi region, and includes 17 km of urban streets. In light of this, the decision to build a highway around the city has been taken. The first and second bypasses are under construction. A bridge is scheduled to be operational as of 2009.

After inspecting part of the highway that is being built around the city the head of state met with journalists and answered questions.
