main topic of discussion was cooperation in the field of nuclear energy, the result of which was the signing of the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt on Collaboration in Civil Nuclear Energy.
During the talks much attention was paid to the improvement of traditional trade and economic ties, particularly in the field of industrial cooperation, as well as developing promising new directions, including in the high-tech field.
Vladimir Putin and Hosni Mubarak also discussed the possibility of improving Russian-Egyptian cooperation on crucial aspects of the Middle Eastern settlement.
The two heads of state reaffirmed the importance of a unified approach to reactivating the process of finding comprehensive Arab-Israeli settlement.
