In his message the President of Russia stressed that over the past decade Malakhit had become one of the recognised leaders in the area of design and construction of nuclear submarines, and technology for the development of the ocean depths. The head of state noted its significant contribution to the strengthening of the country’s defense potential.

In particular, specialists at Malakhit carried out the world's first launch of a ballistic missile from on board the submarine B-67 in September 1955. In realising various projects, they have built more than 300 submarines, manned craft, and testing devices.
