The Executive Order of the President of Russia appoints Viktor Chernomyrdin presidential adviser and special presidential representative on economic cooperation with CIS member countries.
In the same Executive Order Mr Medvedev relieved Mr Chernomyrdin from his post as Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Ukraine.
