The main criteria for evaluating municipal authorities’ performance are the results achieved in terms of improving people’s quality of life and introducing new management methods and principles. Evaluation criteria include the state of healthcare and medical services, small business development, roads and public transport, housing and utilities infrastructure development, education, and housing construction.
The decree stipulates that the evaluation reports shall be published on the Internet, thereby making the public better informed on local authorities’ activities and giving them the chance to assess the effectiveness of their elected officials.
