Russian President Dmitry Medvedev praised the effectiveness of the summit. He said it was useful for the G8 members to meet with the leaders of the largest developing countries and stressed that not a single global problem could be tackled today without taking into account the opinion of major Asian, African and Latin American countries.

The President also said the G8 offers realistic and promising ways of solving the global problems of security and development. He stressed that Russia would continue to take an active part in the joint work, using its growing potential.
