At the invitation of President of the United States George W. Bush, Dmitry Medvedev will take part in the G-20 summit in Washington on November 14–15

The summit will examine the situation on the financial markets and in the world economy.

Russia has an important part to play in overcoming the global financial crisis and reforming the world financial system. Mr Medvedev will set out Russia’s concrete proposals in these areas in his address at the summit.

On the summit’s sidelines, Mr Medvedev will have bilateral meetings with leaders of countries taking part in the G-20. Mr Medvedev will meet with U.S. President George W. Bush, President of China Hu Jintao, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, and Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel.

Mr Medvedev will also address public, academic and business leaders at the Washington section of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).
