Following bilateral talks at the Kremlin, Dmitry Medvedev and President of Turkey Abdullah Gul signed the Joint Declaration on Progress towards a New Stage in Relations between Russia and Turkey and Continued Development of Friendship and Multifaceted Partnership.

The declaration serves as the political foundation for cooperation on foreign policy matters, in trade and economic relations, and in the humanitarian sphere, Mr Medvedev said at a press conference following his talks with Mr Gul.

The President said that this document reflects the high level of the partnership between Russia and Turkey.
