The Minister briefed the President on the results of the 2009 Unified State Exam in schools.
Improvement of higher education in Russia and development of a hierarchy for Russia’s institutions of higher learning, including a network of federal universities and national research universities, were other subjects on the agenda.
Dmitry Medvedev pointed out that he intends to submit to the State Duma a draft law on attributing a special status to the leading universities of Russia, particularly the Moscow and St Petersburg State Universities.
