The telegram reads, in part:

“The performance of your teams is proof of your officers' high-level of athletic training. This helps you to maintain law and order, substantially contributes to giving the profession a positive image, and enhances the prestige of service in Interior Ministry agencies. And of course your achievement strengthens the credibility of domestic sport and Russia's position in the international arena.”

Interior Ministry officers from different regions of Russia won a total of 94 medals (51 gold, 28 silver and 15 bronze) in sporting competitions and games.
