The heads of state of APEC member countries met without their delegations. Following their meeting they adopted a Statement on the Doha Development Agenda of the WTO in which they celebrate the completion of a major milestone towards Russia’s accession to the World Trade Organisation.
Later on, Vladimir Putin and other APEC heads of state met with members of the APEC Business Advisory Council.
On the first day of the APEC summit the President also held talks with chairman of the People’s Republic of China, Hu Jintao, and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
