Vladimir Putin expressed his profound condolences to Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte following the air disaster over Ukraine’s territory, in which a Malaysian Airlines plane went down with all on board killed, including numerous Dutch citizens.
Mr Putin said that this tragedy only underscores yet again the urgent need for a peaceful settlement to the serious crisis in Ukraine. The President also called for a thorough and objective investigation into all circumstances surrounding the disaster.
Mr Putin asked Mr Rutte to pass on his words of sympathy and support to the victims’ families and friends and to all people in the Netherlands.
