Greetings to Caspian Youth Summit

September 28, 2014

Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to participants and guests of the Caspian Youth Summit.

The message reads, in part:

“Your forum is taking place on the eve of the 4th Summit of the Caspian Sea littoral states. The relations between these five countries have always been characterised by a high level of mutual respect and trust. This allows for a constructive dialogue, making it possible to reach agreement on the most complicated pressing issues of multilateral and bilateral relations and to jointly lay the foundation for a prosperous future for our nations and peoples.

The active civic stance of the younger generation, their desire to live in peace and accord and to maintain and strengthen the traditions of good neighbourly relations in the Caspian area is of great importance. Talented, dynamic, motivated and creative young people united in their striving for joint constructive work have gathered today in Astrakhan. I am certain that here you can discuss the future of the region and exchange views on promising social, economic, humanitarian and environmental projects. You will learn a lot about Russia, make new friends and meet likeminded people.“

The 4th Caspian Summit will take place in Astrakhan on September 29. It will be attended by President of Russia Vladimir Putin, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Iran Hassan Rouhani, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
