Dmitry Medvedev once again thanked Mr Berlusconi for the excellent organization of the recent G8 Summit in L’Aquila, noting the high level of preparation and the relevance and significance of the decisions made there for the entire international community.

Mr Berlusconi thanked Mr Medvedev and the Russian delegation for the constructive position demonstrated in the course of summit discussions, specifically noting that many of the joint decisions concerning major global challenges were made thanks to the Russian Federation.

In the course of their conversation, the two leaders also discussed certain aspects of the Russian-Italian cooperation in international issues and agreed to continue their regular contacts that have already proved their effectiveness.
