Dmitry Medvedev sent his greetings to participants in the meeting of research and engineering councils of the Nuclear Weapons Complex of ROSATOM and Russian Federal Nuclear Centre — The All-Russian Research Institute of Experimental Physics (RFNC-VNIIEF). The anniversary meeting took place in Sarov, Nizhny Novgorod Region.
The message reads, in part:
“This is one of Russia’s leading nuclear centres, where the hydrogen bomb was created 55 years ago. That became a hugely important event for our defence industry, a symbol of our scientists’ success in the development of new fields of knowledge.
I hope that the current generation of the nuclear complex’ staff will preserve the traditions of their predecessors, make a significant contribution to Russia’s defence capability and boost its reputation as a leading nation of science.”
