Dmitry Medvedev sent his greetings to Nika award winners and the 24th annual National Film Award ceremony participants.
The message reads, in part:
“Over the years, your respected creative review has occupied an exalted niche in our nation’s cultural and social life. Its tradition is to bring together both renown professionals in cinematography and those who are taking their first steps in film directing, scriptwriting, design and camera operating.
It is of prime importance that Nika awards are always received by truly bright and talented individuals whose creative achievements attract substantial public interest.
Today, Russian films gain global recognition and win prestigious international prizes evidencing the huge potential of the national film industry and inspiring movie-makers to create new works.”
