Dmitry Medvedev sent his greetings to participants and guests of the 16th Congress of the European Union for School and University Health and Medicine “Education and health from childhood to adult life.”
The message reads, in part:
“This is an excellent opportunity for teachers and medical professionals working in the field of paediatrics from different countries to share novel ideas, discuss current professional issues and identify new ways of working together.
The young generation’s health is among our key priorities. Vaccination programmes are being launched along with innovative diagnosis and early disease detection methods in schoolchildren and students. Particular attention is given to upgrading physical education in schools and building sports infrastructure.
I hope that the recommendations made by the Congress will be realised in practice and will serve to strengthen international cooperation.”
The Congress is being held on June 9–11, 2011 in Moscow.
