Dmitry Medvedev congratulated the staff and former employees of the Pravda daily on the newspaper's 100th anniversary.
The message reads, in part:
“The history of Pravda is inextricably linked with the destiny of our country and the development of national journalism. Outstanding writers, journalists, scholars and experts have worked for the newspaper, including Mikhail Koltsov, Yury Zhukov, Yevgeny Primakov and Vsevolod Ovchinnikov. Thanks to their skill and professionalism, Pravda has found its own style and has gained popularity among readers of different generations.
Importantly, the newspaper has found its niche in the Russian media market. There is always room in its pages for different points of view and the public debate on crucial current issues.”
