Congratulations to staff and veterans of Prosecutor General’s Office

January 11, 2013

Vladimir Putin congratulated staff and veterans of the Russian Federation’s Prosecutor General’s Office on their professional holiday: Prosecutor General’s Office Workers’ Day.

The message reads, in part:

“The prosecution is one of the most important, critical institutions in our country’s law enforcement system. It firmly protects the principles of lawfulness and is rightly considered a reliable supporting element of our state. The best representatives of the prosecution corps have always stood out for their high professional qualities, civic courage, dedicated service to their work and to the public good, and their personal integrity.

Today, you face many important challenges demanded by the times; the chief among them is protecting the lawful rights and interests of citizens, continuing the implacable fight against crime and corruption, and assuring the unity of Russian statehood. Incessant attention should be given to suppressing any manifestations of terrorism and extremism, as well as overcoming legal nihilism.

I am confident that your excellent training, competence and loyalty to the Fatherland and to your duty will help you achieve the goals set.”
