On the 90th anniversary of Russian civil aviation, Vladimir Putin congratulated employees and veterans of the industry.
The message reads, in part:
“The history of Russia’s civil fleet, its achievements and victories were won by talented, courageous people who were committed to Russia’s interests, who truly loved their profession and the sky. The selfless, creative efforts by scientists, designers and pilots, their truly invaluable input into our country’s evolution into one of the largest aviation powers in the world, deserve our deepest gratitude.
Today, the Russian aviation complex employs high-class experts who truly know their work and who are committed to the outstanding, legendary traditions of many generations of their predecessors. I will note that your competence, precision and responsibility directly affect the successful resolution of the most important challenges in effectively developing the sector, the reliable assurance of flights safety, and the timely arrival of passengers and cargos.
For its part, the state will give priority attention to building modern airport complexes and improving infrastructure, supporting regional aviation, first and foremost in the hard-to-access areas in the North and Far East.”
