The main theme of the 2009 forum is: Ways out of the Crisis as seen by Civil Societies of Russia and Germany. The first session of the Petersburg Dialogue was held in 2001 in St Petersburg. The Forum is held annually alternately in Germany and Russia, and supported by the President of the Russian Federation and the Federal Chancellor of Germany.
