Vladimir Putin said that the conditions in which elections were held in Iraq were “to put it mildly, very difficult”.

At the same time, the President called on the heads of Russian government structures to organise work in such a way that all Russia’s efforts are directed towards normalising the situation in Iraq, and to protecting Russian interests in the country. “We have plenty to do there,” said Mr. Putin.
