The President visited the Magadan border where he held a meeting with the regional border management. During the meeting they discussed protecting biodiversity, and the struggle against drug trafficking and other crimes in detail.

The President also held a meeting on developing Russia's gold mining industry.

The head of state pointed out that Russia's potential in gold mining is not being fully exploited. Vladimir Putin emphasized that there is a gap between potential possibilities and the real situation in gold mining.

The head of state considers it necessary to develop a legal, financial and economic model for developing national gold mining, and also concrete measures, including tax measures, to increase the profitability of developing remote deposits.
