The School of Presidents section on the kids’ website, President of Russia to School Age Citizens, now has a new page devoted to the State Duma elections as a key democratic practice.

Young web users will learn about the role of the State Duma in Russia’s political system and familiarize themselves with the rules of pre-election campaigning and voting. The term “political party” is also explained on the new page.

The elections page on the kids’ website follows the same game format as the other pages. It was added to show young web-surfers that to defend one’s rights and freedoms is one of the key principles of living in a democracy, and participating in elections is an important way of asserting one’s rights.
