On May 26, the President
will meet with the BRICS countries’ senior officials in charge of security matters
on the occasion of the fifth annual Meeting of BRICS National Security Advisors.
The meeting, which is set to address the question of how to guarantee regional and international security, will take part in Moscow. Russia took over the rotating Presidency of BRICS in April 2015.
Russia’s Presidency of BRICS aims to continue transforming the organisation from a dialogue forum and tool for coordinating policy in a narrow range of areas into a full-fledged mechanism for strategic cooperation on key global political and economic issues and affirming the organisation’s status as an integral part of the global governance system.
