The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s Council of Heads of State held its summit in Ufa.
After a joint photo session, the leaders of Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan held a narrow-format meeting. The discussions then continued with the delegations taking part.
The summit participants summed up the results of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s work in 2014–2015, examined current work priorities, set the main directions for further cooperation, and exchanged views on current international and regional issues.
The meeting ended with the SCO leaders adopting a package of documents. In particular, they signed the Ufa Declaration of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Heads of State. The declaration notes the member countries’ consolidated approach to the SCO’s continued development and to key international and regional issues. The SCO Development Strategy through to 2025 was also signed.
The summit participants adopted a number of statements, including on cooperation on celebrating the 70th anniversary of victory in World War II, and a statement on the drug threat.
