The President instructed the Prime Minister to form a state commission to investigate the crash of a Russian plane in Egypt

Vladimir Putin instructed Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev to form a state commission to investigate the crash of Kogalymavia airliner in Egypt.

The President instructed Minister of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief Vladimir Puchkov to urgently dispatch Emergencies Ministry aircraft to Egypt in coordination with the Egyptian side to work at the liner crash site. The Emergencies Ministry and the Healthcare Ministry leadership were also instructed to immediately organise efforts to provide assistance to the victims’ families.

Vladimir Putin expressed his deepest condolences to the relatives of those killed in the crash.

The Kogalymavia airliner was en route from Sharm el-Sheikh to St Petersburg. It had 217 passengers and seven crew members on board.
